Seeing
the World Even In A Leaf Falling
How should we live? Every doubt a man can have in right way begins from and returns to this question. And this question is the companion of life that never parts. A consistent system of a man's attitudes or concepts on this question is called his "value conception".
Taekwondo is related to life so closely that there is a good value conception that a Taekwondo man comes to have, which is to be obtained in endless strains with the opponent when you transcend over yourself in it. While a man can manage his life well without them a Taekwondo man drives himself up severely to the boundary of life. For he wants to live more positive life. He has to admit the opponent is better than himself in another many respects on one hand also never ceasing to seek every blind point though trivial in opponent's good woven poses and motions, and he finally controls over his opponent protecting himself. This is possible only with the positive mind of seeing pleasure even in painful difficulty admitting that we can find twinkling stars in darkness and with the creative mind of discovering the world open to infinite possibility in every small things. This is the value conception of Taekwondo man.
This value conception gained from Taekwondo activity can capably cover all virtuous worths. There can be no falsity in the activity of plunging into the life itself prior to thinking with full affirmation and understanding of all, which includes the truth. It is the niceness if you find infinite possibility even on a slight hint and turn this positive mind to a man, which is the foundation of ethics. This value conception of a Taekwondo man gets harmonized when actions and cognitions, which consist in the process of life, are mediated by no thinking, and then, what you feel is the beauty, which advances itself to the art. And knowing that these are all one you can open the door of transcendence.
Some one may say all of these are sophistries, but to seek the words is rather to lose reality. It is so especially in Taekwondo and life. The ultimate significance of word belongs not to the word itself. The finger that points to the moon has no moon. The ultimate significance of word is to lead us in right way who understand it. When a finger points to the moon you should look at the moon. In the same manner, even though here talks fight with words it is not to help you fight others but to lead you in your right way. At this time, talking fight corresponds to finger and the moon to the right way. Whoever might talk TAEKWONDO, if in right way, nothing more than this could be what he truly means.
Just because TAEKWONDO leads man in his right way, although a soldier regards it his happiness that he doesn't have to use his lethal weapon, a Taekwondo man always does TAEKWONDO in his daily life. The lethal weapon consititutes rather small part in Taekwondo. On the other hand, lethal weapons are all over the life and hidden also in words. Unless you discard them when you ought to they can rather hurt you. Why is it said that you have to abandon everything to get Taekwondo? For the life is the lethal tool.
Do you want to get the perfect Taekwondo? Then, seek everything of Taekwondo and life. And then, when you've got it, abandon all at once. The perfect TAEKWONDO will be obtained then at last.
