<<Division 8. The Basics>>

 Chapter 58.

A Piece of String That Make Necklace with Perls

When a man does Taekwondo he should understand Musul at first. When he practices skills in the process of understanding about Musul, if he advances to the level of skill for skill itself over the level of skill for certain objectives, then he can understand Muyae. It is an expression and an art. When finally he sees Musul is not different from Muyae and recognizes there is something over the distinction knowing that the something doesn't differ from another all different trivial truths either, he will understand Mudo and thus the whole of Taekwondo.

Taekwondo has various figures, and thus, it has various skills. Therefore, you try this one and also that one. In this way you knows everthing is same and, on the other hand, also that you have to stick to your pursuit. That <Ki> should accord with sword and body in kendo is same as that <Ki> should accord with hand&foot and body in Taekwondo, that Tai Chi Chuan counterattacks accepting opponent's attack in its circular motion is on the same basis as that your back kick counterattacks your opponent, and the principle it relies on to strike the ball with elastic force of waist in vollyball is that of to make Dollyeo Chagi in turning of waist in Taekwondo.

I come to realize always that it is the best to make sure of any one skill than to try all of these or those, and it is enough always. For it is possible to master a skill only through many repetitions and practices, and everyone has some limits in his time. After you master one skill like this you can apply another skills in the same principle. By the way, it is really difficult to realize before you try various skills.
