<<Division 5. Attack and Defence>>

 Chapter 36.

Making Little Movement Big Relyng on <Do>

In order to make such an attack you should be able to have both mind and body strengthened evenly, which bring you the reconciled power, and should be able to move all parts together in the most proper manner once you move. And finally, all movements concentrated on a motion make a right motion of Taekwondo. An attack of hitting an opponent appears as both a peripheral and essential aspect of this moving all, and this attack is powerful.

For an example, when yo hit the opponent with you fist it should not be that only your fist moves and strikes at him; Your fist should kick the earth pushing your body, your body support your shoulder, the shoulder push the arm, and the arm pierce th opponent with an explosion in his body. This course also can be seen in kicking; your kicking foot should push the earth when lifted, to move the body forward while the other supporting foot should keep in your waste the balance of sudden falling down forward, the waste swing the lab and the lab swing the calf to pierce with the foot tip the center of the opponent.

Every movement of this whole process goes together with all the others at once, thus even though the motion needs only a little room its power is so strong as that of man's rushing from far enough. And since the motion is in accordance with the change of every thing a man can produce the power of heavy mountain in spite of his light weight, and because the ways of movements includes turning and going and coming in oneness its attacking power, even though it moves slow and tender, is as sharp and hard as the edge of a massive sword.

A man's motion, no matter what it may be, comes from the change of <Heo-Sil>, which relies on the differences of Yin & Yang and Kang & Yu. This makes it possible that a Taekwondo man moves like this because he reconciles the differences of Yin & Yang and that of Kang & Yu in a harmonized motion and replaces the small change of <Heo-Sil> with them. That is to replace the making big changes of <Heo-Sil> in moving farther with the making big differences between strains and slacknesses in muscles and bones, to make up the smallness and lightness of your body with the bigness and heaviness of the earth on which you stand, and to fill up the slowness and softness with the speediness of straight line and the hardness of turning. The short cut to master this motion is to control breath in calm with the mind arranged. This above is called making little movement big relying on <Do>. How can it be possible that the opponent see this sort of attacks and he defend them?
