Endless Changes Produced from A Simple Principle of Taekwondo

The figure of Taekwondo is simple but it shows us itself inclusive of various principles and changes. It is because man thinks of Taekwondo distinctively that a lot of principles and changes can be in Taekwondo although its simple figure doesn't change like this. Therefore, everything and its change was generated according to but because man, after he was born, distinguished and named each thing the change was divided into yin and yang, and its quality into Kang(hardness) and Yu(softness). Thus we can discuss each factor in these categories.

The distinctive factors of Taekwodo can be analyzed as three of distance, tide and balance, each of which consists of compositions among the ways of Sky, earth and man; Sky and earth when united make distance; Sky and man when united make tide; and earth and man when united make balance.

The reason why Sky and earth when united make distance is that, since the way of Sky is to deposit every part of yours in its proper place and the way of earth is to have your opponent opposed to the world where you are harmonized, you can always find the best distance of Taekwondo whenever unity of the both keeps each part of yourself in its own proper position with your opponent opposed to the world where you are harmonized.

The reason why Sky and man when united make tide is that, since the way of man is to keep the core of your change and balance not to lose yourself, you can have your spirit firm with every change and everything kept in its own proper place whenever you follow these ways.

And the reason why earth and man when united make balance is that it is the very balance in motion of Taekwondo to make your change settled around your core in the harmony that you have in the opposition of your opponent and the world.

In this manner, when the motion of Taekwondo follows the ways of Sky, earth and man, the factors that control motions are distance, tide and balance. The most practical attack and defense is determined by them.
